Current Research Interests:

Transport of fluids in fractures

Transport of fluids through fractures;
Fluid flow and tracer dispersion in self-affine fractures; Numerical simulation of the velocity field in three-dimensional fractures using the Lattice-Boltzmann Method; Numerical simulation of the dispersion of tracer particles by Monte-Carlo and Lattice-Boltzmann methods; Transport of non-Newtonian fluids in fractures; Filtration and deposition of fine particles in fractures and fracture networks.

Suspensions

Transport properties of non-Brownian suspensions of spherical particles;
Shear-induced diffusion in non-brownian suspensions;
Statistical properties of sheared suspensions: chaotic dynamics in phase-space, symmetry breaking in the microscopic structure, formation of chain-like structures and clusters in concentrated suspensions, velocity distributions and autocorrelation functions;
The impact of spheres' roughness in sheared suspensions;
Numerical simulations of the dynamics of sheared suspensions by Stokesian Dynamics and Molecular Dynamics.
